I had the pleasure of photographing the most beautiful couple who had spent many years sharing their life and passions together – including travel and dance. Their bond and vision for their life together was already crystal clear but M knew that there was only one more thing she needed to do to make their happily ever after truly complete…. so on this chilly winter morning she surprised her other half with promising forever by popping the question in one of the most magical places on this planet. These two beautiful souls had planned a trip up the coast to the stunning Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, where (one of them already knew) they would celebrate their love and the first chapter of their happily-ever-after together.
Little did M know that M had a surprise proposal planned that would take her breath away. As they settled in on the back patio, breakfast was being delivered, and that’s when the magic unfolded. M left the door unlocked for me to sneak in and capture the moment as it unraveled. There were tears (from all of us), hugs, and the most beautiful words shared between two souls that were clearly made for each other. And of course… she said YES!
As the redwoods stood tall and proud around them, emotions were running high. The love and connection between them was indescribable and it was an honor to be able to capture this special moment for them. Like I always tell my couples… inviting me to capture and share these intimate moments are beyond special to me. Inviting me into your sacred space and allowing me to capture the beginning of your forever is an honor and a dream. (Thank you).
After the proposal, we ventured down to a stunning vista point where we popped open a bottle of champagne and toasted to the happy couple’s future. The view was simply breathtaking – with the ocean stretching out before us, and the sun beginning to peek through the towering redwoods. The love and joy in their eyes were contagious, and we all felt like we were on top of the world.
Following the champagne, we took a leisurely walk through the forest, taking in the sights and sounds around us. It was a peaceful and tranquil moment, and the perfect way to soak in the first moments of their happily ever after. It was an unforgettable day that will be etched in their hearts (and mine) forever, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.
In the end, it was a day that none of us will ever forget. A day filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Congratulations to you M & M, and may your journey together be filled with joy, endless love, and dancing forever together!
